ALLENSTOWN- Mr. Edgar G. “Jerry” McKenney, 73, of Allenstown, passed away on March 24, 2017 at the Concord Hospice House surrounded by his loving family after a 4 month battle with Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma.

Jerry was born in Lynn, MA on May 7, 1943, the son of the late Edgar and Dorothy (Spofford) McKenney.  He was raised in Saugus, MA and was a graduate of Saugus High School Class of 1961.  Jerry served his country from 1962 to 1966 in the United States Air Force, stationed in Bangor, ME.

Jerry worked at WMUR-TV, International Paper Box Machine Company, and retired from Freudenberg in 2009.  He served on the Allenstown Master Plan, Planning Board, CNHRPC Commission, Trustee of the Trust Funds, Cemetery Trustee and Budget Committee.

He was an avid Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins fan.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing golf and especially playing his Play Station 4.  He had also been in candlepin bowling leagues since 1996.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Elva Flanders, his father-in-laws, Francis Lee and Warren Flanders, and his sister, Marianne Clark.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra (Lee-Holland) McKenney; their children, Michael McKenney of Manchester, Raymond Holland and his wife Katherine of Pembroke, Michele Wright and her fiancé Ralph Gagnor of FL, Robert Holland of Manchester, and Stephanie Fesco and her husband Jeff of Georgia.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother-in-laws, Alden Clark of Boxford, MA and Ronald Lee and his wife Deena of GA.  Jerry also leaves his mother-in-law, Jacquelyn Lee and her family of Manchester and Tina Gagnon, who was like a daughter to him, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, March 30th from 5 to 7 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke.  Burial will take place at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in May.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory may be sent to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Suncook, 8 Whitten St. Allenstown, NH 03275 or the Suncook Senior Center, 8 Whitten St. Allenstown, NH 03275.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.petitroan.com
