Shawn J. McLaughlin

EPSOM – Shawn J. McLaughlin, 62, of Epsom, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a 29 month battle with GBM brain cancer on March 4, 2023.

Born June 28, 1960 in Haverhill, MA, Shawn was the son of Louis and Lucille (Lowes) McLaughlin.  He was raised and educated in Haverhill and was a 1978 graduate of Haverhill High School.

Prior to his illness, Shawn was employed as a manager for Jackson Lumber.

Shawn was an avid outdoorsman. He was affectionately known as Muskie by his friends. He enjoyed a simple lifestyle spending his time hunting, and homesteading with family.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle (Dodier) McLaughlin; his two children, Eric McLaughlin of Epsom, NH, and Kelly McLaughlin of Newburyport MA; his loyal dog Lagertha, and two sisters, Sandra Basiliere of Haverhill, MA, and Kathy Dirago of Raleigh, NC.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal services at this time.  A Celebration of His Life will be held at a later date.
