PITTSFIELD – Roger Blake, 93, of Pittsfield, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Concord Hospital after a battle with COVID-19.
Born on May 17, 1928 in Watertown, MA, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Margaret (Batson) Blake.
Roger was raised and educated in the local schools but from a pretty young age was taught he should work hard, so he did, he later joined the Navy and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge. For many years he resided in Maine with his wife where he worked doing maintenance for the City of Hallowell until his retirement. Roger had a heart of gold and loved to do for others, he founded Uncle Rogers Labor of Love, building and donating boats for over 30 years, his boats can be found all over the world and that made him proud.
Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Knight) Blake.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassie Heald of Pittsfield.
