Richard George, Sr.

CONCORD- Richard E. George, Sr., 85, of Concord, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 5, 2022 just the way he wanted.

Born on August 18, 1936 in Henniker, he was the son of the late Earl and Alice (Bartlett) George.

From a young age Richard was enamored by just about anything with an engine, antique cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles and law mowers enjoyed working on them and driving them. During his time serving his country in the United States Army he worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed Nascar, watching the Boston Celtics and Boxing but mostly it was tinkering with engines.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Gelinas) George and two brothers, Charlie and Lenny George.

He is survived by his children, Linda George of Hartsville, SC, Donna George of Hartsville, SC and Richard George, Jr. of Concord, grandchildren, Zane George, Miranda Murphy and Richard George, III, great granddaughter, Lyanna George, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who he held dear to him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 10:30 A.M. in the Contoocook Village Cemetery, 743 NH Rt. 103 in Contoocook.  A Celebration of Life will follow at the Odd Fellows Hall at 513 Park Ave in Contoocook.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be sent to the Contoocook United Methodist Church, PO Box 356 Contoocook, NH 03229.  The Roan Family Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting with the arrangements.
