Michael Phillips Obituary

CHICHESTER – Michael J. Phillips, 62, of Chichester, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born on November 6, 1960 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Nelson W. Phillips and Doris I. (Molton) Garland.

Michael worked for many years with Walmart as a Material Handler until his health declined. He was the kind of man that would give you a hard time but also give the shirt off his back. A gentle mountain man kind of guy. He had a knack for knowing the make, model and where any antique car was built and could name the song title and artist for any song that came on the radio. He enjoyed taking drives, especially up to the Kancamagus.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Phillips, Sr.

He is survived by his soul mate, Faye Couture of Chichester whom he shared 20 years with, her children, Bob Wasson and his partner CJ of Manchester and Joshua Wasson of Chichester, his siblings, Peggy Hurd and her husband Paul of Milton and David Phillips of Kittery, ME as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Service will be held at a later date at the Third Baptist Church, Strafford Road in Center Strafford. Per Michael’s wishes, you are to come as you would usually dress, no fancy clothes.
