ALLENSTOWN- Mr. Joseph O. Lamy, 87, of Allenstown, passed away at the Bedford Hills Center on January 16, 2021 after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester, Joe was the son of the late Joseph E. and Laura (Bergeron) Lamy. He was raised and educated in Manchester and Pinardville and was a graduate of Goffstown High School.
Prior to his retirement, Joe spent 46 years in the grocery industry. He started his career at Champagne’s Store and went on to work for Grand Union and Alexander’s Market and spent the last 19 years of his career at Hannafords.
Joe was an active communicant of St. John the Baptist Parish in Allenstown and was a member of the Fr. Routhier Council #4666 Knights of Columbus as well as the St. Therese Rosebush Society. He was especially proud to have earned the honor of being a 4th Degree Knight. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His smile, quick wit and happy-go-lucky spirit will be greatly missed.
Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lorraine P. (Laberge) Lamy and his sisters, Violet Lamy and Lorraine McNeill.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many friends who always were there in times of need.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 20th from 10:30 – 11:30 A.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 P.M in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. Services will conclude with burial in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. In accordance with state and local guidelines, all attendees must wear face-coverings and adhere to social distancing as directed.
