Harriett Hutchins Obituary

PITTSFIELD – Harriett C. Hutchins, 96 of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully and under her own terms on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord.

Born on September 2, 1925 in Pittsfield, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Christie (Clark) Mettevia.

Harriett was educated in the local schools later graduating from Pittsfield High School, Class of 1943. She worked for many years at Globe Manufacturing up until a few years ago, she lovingly held the title of “Little Miss Harriett”. Her daughters wish to thank the Globe family for everything they did for her.  Harriett always thought of the Globe as her extended family. She enjoyed keeping her bird feeders stocked so she could watch the birds, collecting stuffed bears and up until a few years ago she was an avid reader.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roland G. Hutchins, as well as her son-in-law, Alan Murphy and her beloved cat, Mouser.

She is survived by her daughters, Crystal Young and her husband Ed of Pittsfield, Nadine Clark and her husband Lonnie of Moultonborough and Marcia Murphy and her significant other, David Hall of Salisbury, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous friends.

At her request there are no services. She will be interred with her husband at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to her favorite charity, the Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord Merrimack County, 94 Silk Farm Rd, Concord, NH 03301.
