Dianna M. (Chalko) Parichand

EPSOM- Mrs. Dianna M. (Chalko) Parichand, 72, of Epsom, passed away suddenly on January 17, 2021.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, Dianna was the daughter of the late Alexander and Hilda (Cochrane) Chalko.  She was raised in Taunton, MA before moving to Pembroke at a young age and was a graduate of Pembroke Academy Class of 1966. In 1968, Dianna and Robert were married and eventually settled in Epsom, NH for the rest of her life. 

Prior to her retirement, Dianna was employed as an Administrative Accountant for the SAU #53.  She had previously worked as a Teacher’s Aide for the Epsom Central School and served the Epsom School District as an Administrative Assistant for several years.  Dedicated to her community, she was a past member of the Epsom School Board and devoted countless volunteer hours to the school, church, and community at large.

Dianna enjoyed gardening, music, quilting, ceramics and playing cards.  She also enjoyed going dancing and hosting many pool parties.  Above all else, she cherished time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved unequivocally.  

She was predeceased by her siblings: Marsha Brown, Patricia Cate and Alexander Chalko.

Dianna is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 53 years, Robert G. Parichand; her two children, Kristina Splawn and her husband Clay of Sheffield, MA and Martin Parichand of Franklin, NH.  She was the loving grandmother to Diana Splawn, Dalton Splawn, Kathryn Parichand, Benjamin Parichand and Robert Splawn.  She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Desmarais of Murrells Inlet, SC.

In light of the times, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for immediate family and a burial in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery will take place on July 30, 2021 at noon followed by a gathering at the family home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Dianna’s memory may be sent to the Payson Center for Cancer Care, 250 Pleasant St. Concord, NH 03301 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl.
