Diane Reed Steward

PITTSFIELD- Diane R. Steward died at the Hospice House in Concord, NH on July 29, 2021 after contending many years with cancer.

She was born in Northport, NY, the daughter of Richard and Jean Reed Steward on January 18, 1945.  Since her father worked for Fairchild Aircraft, there were many assignments and moves.  As such, she lived in California, Texas and even Uruguay, before settling in Pittsfield, NH.  She attended high school there, but actually graduated from Smithtown High School as the family had moved again.

After graduating from Northeastern University, she worked for Colby Sawyer College, and then she worked for many years as a policy writer for the NH Department of Health & Human Services, Children and Youth Services.

Upon retirement, she adopted Kaela, Ricky and Caitlin, who survive her.  She is also survived by a sister, Debra Strom, a brother, Dean Steward, a niece, Amanda Overbagh and grandnieces.  Assisting the family with arrangements is the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home in Epsom.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.stilloaks.com
