Christine G. "Kris" Westerberg

PITTSFIELD- Christine G. “Kris” Westerberg, of Pittsfield, entered Heaven on August 30, 2021 at the age of 80.

Born in Ottawa, Illinois, Christine was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Dorothy M. (Singer) Grover.  Kris was a longtime resident of Bradford, NH, where she raised her children and in later years, relocated to Pittsfield.

She was a devoted mother who spent many years volunteering as a PTA member in the Kearsarge School District.  Kris was the driving force that started the Ski School Program at the Bradford Elementary School.

After relocating to Pittsfield, she enjoyed a long career as a seamstress with Globe Manufacturing.  She was an accomplished seamstress both professionally and privately, having crafted many wedding gowns for area young ladies along with numerous other products which she and Gerry enjoyed taking to area craft shows.

Kris served as an EMT member of the Center Barnstead Rescue Squad for many years.  She enjoyed camping and traveling, gardening, and following NASCAR racing.  Her kindness, playful sense of humor, work ethic and perseverance were an example to all who knew her.  She will be greatly missed.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Yeaton and her brother, Fletcher Grover.

Christine is survived by her longtime companion, Gerald J. Gilman of Pittsfield; her daughter, Leona Westerberg Leist and her husband Greg of Cincinnati, OH; her son, Scott Westerberg of St. Petersburg, FL and her loving grandchildren, Eric and Katie Leist.
