PEMBROKE- Mrs. Rita M. (Petrin) LaBranche, 75, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
Born in Biddeford, Maine, Rita was the daughter of the late Ernest and Alfreda (Bourgeault) Petrin. She was raised and educated in Biddeford, residing there until 1971. She and her husband then resided in Brewer, ME for 10 years before moving to Pembroke in 1981.
Prior to her retirement, she was a longtime receptionist for Suncook Family Dentistry. In earlier years, she worked in the school lunch programs in Maine and New Hampshire.
Rita was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Plausawa Country Club. She also enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the Ladies of Sainte Anne. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Albert Petrin and Marie Pelletier.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Raymond M. LaBranche; her four children, Diane Currier and her husband Eddie of Pembroke, Suzanne Auger and her husband John of Midland, NC, Richard LaBranche of Pembroke and Sharon Warren and her husband Marty of Spring Hill, TN. She was the sister to Patricia Seymour of Port Orange, FL, Roland Petrin of Cumming, GA, Raymond “Pete” Petrin of Sandston, VA and Maggie Gagnon of Biddeford, ME. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, May 25th from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 26th at 10 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. Burial will take place at a later date in Maine.
