PEMBROKE- Mr. Paul E. Grandmaison, 80, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 28, 2018 after a period of declining health.

Born in Boscawen on September 24, 1937, Paul was the son of the late Armand Grandmaison and Eva (Pelletier) Auger.  He was a resident of Pembroke for the past 48 years.  An honorably discharged Veteran, Paul proudly served in the New Hampshire Air Guard from 1956 to 1962.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the State of New Hampshire in the General Court division.

Paul enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.  He cherished the time spent with family and was an avid woodworker.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Niegisch, Dr. William Santis, Dr. Peter Crow at the Payson Center and the staff of CRVNA Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care.

Paul was predeceased by his siblings: Doris Grandmaison and Robert Grandmaison.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Mary Louise (Dexter) Grandmaison; his daughters, Susan Lavin and her husband Leo, III of Pembroke and Katherine Moulton and her husband Scott of Boscawen; his son, Ronald Grandmaison and Michelle Troian of Andover; his grandchildren, Leo Lavin, IV and Craig Lavin, Andrew “AJ” and Melina Caron, Jackson, Abby and Matthew Grandmaison and Cammy Troian; his great grandchildren, Ava and Leo Lavin, V; his siblings, Lucien Grandmaison of Pembroke, Jacqueline Brochu of Concord, Laurette Picard of Manchester and Simonne Doyon of Pembroke.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no calling hours.  Burial with Military Honors will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on Tuesday, August 7th at 9 A.M.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be sent to the Pembroke Town Library, 313 Pembroke St. Pembroke, NH 03275 or the CRVNA Hospice House, 30 Pillsbury St. Concord, NH 03301.  Assisting the family with arrangements is the Petit-Roan Funeral Home in Pembroke.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.petitroan.com
