MANCHESTER, NH- Nicole Marie Dunham, 41, of Manchester, passed away on September 13, 2018.

Born in Bangor, Maine, Nicole was the beloved daughter of Alan and Mary (Cawley) Dunham of Orrington, Maine.  She was raised and educated in Maine.  Although living in New Hampshire, Maine would always be her home.

Nicole enlisted in the United States Army in 1998, completing training as an EMT in 2000. She then served in the United States Army Reserve until 2005 in 309th Combat Support Hospital Division. In 2005, She proudly served her country as a Specialist in the Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign with 34th Inventory Division known as the Red Bulls. Her Mission was providing Medic support on convoys traveling from Tallil Airbase to Bagdad Airport as well has humanitarian missions for the people of Iraq. She was Honorably discharged in 2007.  She was the recipient of the Army Achievement Medal, National Service Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the Armed Forces Reserves Medal.

Nicole was most recently employed by the Konica Minolta Company as a Senior Production Print Specialist.  During the time frame of 2008 to 2017, Nicole worked in Sydney, Australia in the printing business. Her most recent position was as an Account Manager for Whirlwind Print. Prior to going to Australia and her service in Operation Iraqi Freedom, she worked in the print Industry in Boston for FedEx-Kinkos and in Bangor for Northeast Reprographics. Print and Print production were a passion for Nicole which made her career rewarding.

Nicole enjoyed hiking with Jeff and her dog Tyson, golfing with her family, and her most recent “Thelma and Louise” Trip with Charissa Dinsmore, and Tyson traveling from California to Maine by car to complete her journey home from Australia.

In addition to her proud and loving parents, Nicole is survived by her brother, Marcus Dunham and girlfriend Melanie Luke of N. Attleboro, MA, her sister Amy Nelson and husband Ian Nelson of Medford, Oregon;  her beloved companion, Jeff O’Connell of Topsfield, MA, and Godparents Tim and Jane Donnell of Calais, Maine.  She is also survived by countless friends here and around the globe including her battle buddies Leticia Riley, Mark Andren of the Minnesota Red Bulls, Charissa Dinsmore of Bangor. Also surviving Nicole is her beloved dog Tyson who has been adopted by Nicole’s friend Jean Chan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 22nd at 11 A.M. in St. John Catholic Church, 217 York St. Bangor, ME.  Burial will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Nicole’s memory may be sent to http://militaryheroesfoundation.org.  Assisting the family with arrangements is the Petit-Roan Funeral Home in Pembroke, NH.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.petitroan.com
