Obituary:

Loudon – Sandra E. Smith, 67, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at her home on Clough Hill Road surrounded by family and friends after a long courageous battle with cancer.

 

Born in Pittsfield on July 16, 1942, Sandra spent most of her life in Loudon.  Sandra and her husband Wilson operated Smith's Egg & Dairy Farm located on Clough Hill Road.  She was the bookkeeper, homemaker, and dairy maid, all in one, and was better known around Loudon as Ma Egg.  In addition, she had also worked as a Manager at the Speedway Convenience Store in Loudon. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

 

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Wilson K. Smith of Loudon; 3 children, Marjorie Smith Schofield, Evelyn Smith, and Stafford Gardner, all of Loudon; 2 grandchildren, Jessika Schofield and Tyler Smith; her mother, Evelyn Aloise of Franklin; 2 sisters, Sharon O’Dougherty and her husband Kerry of Loudon and Linda Swain and her husband Rolfe of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.  Sandra was predeceased by her son, Paul A. Gardner, who died less than two weeks ago on January 20th, and a sister, Beverly Carr.

 


Memorials:

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the CRVNA Hospice Program, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301.



Visitation:

Calling hours are Friday from 6-8 pm at the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Hwy. in Epsom. 



Service:

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 pm at the Loudon Center Free Will Baptist Church.  The Rev. Henry Frost will officiate. 



Cemetery:

Both she and her son Paul will be buried in the spring in the Loudon Ridge Cemetery.
