PEMBROKE - Allan C. Cole, 87, of Pembroke, passed away on Wednesday March 27, 2024 at Concord Hospital following a period of declining health.
Allan was born on November 7, 1936 in Winthrop, MA, to the late A. Perry and Thelma (Bethell) Cole.
Allan attended local schools and upon graduating from Pembroke Academy, went on to proudly serve his country in the US Navy for 6 years. Following his years of service he attended Hesser Community College. He then became part of the management team for Suncook Woven Label in Allenstown where he worked for 20 years. After working for the label company Allan formed his own real estate company, developing and managing properties for over 30 years.
Allan and his wife Nancy (Peabody) raised their four children in Pembroke for 15 years before moving to Chichester. He especially enjoyed making home movies of his children. In addition, animals held a special place in his heart. Through his years in real estate, he could be found flipping houses and building dollhouses for each of his granddaughters. Allan loved cheering for his beloved Boston Red Sox and was blessed to attend Ted Williams’ last game. He also enjoyed Friday night card games with his friends.
In later years Allan enjoyed taking vacations in Aruba, building jigsaw puzzles and going to concerts with his longtime companion Lois.
Besides his parents, Allan was predeceased by his son, Allan "Skip" Cole, and his companion Lois Rook.
He is survived by his children Kathy Cole of Pembroke, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Cole of Canton, PA, Wendy (Gary) Paquette of Hopkinton and daughter-in-law Darlene Cole of Pembroke, his sisters Linda (Bill) Camp and Bonnie Cole of Fort Meyers Fl, his grandchildren, Derek Cole, Shana Cole, Cassi (Bob) Blaney, Chrissi (Chris) Stanton, Carri (Grant) Bilbrey, Matt (Kelsey) Cole, Jocelyn (Greg) Kerr, Jason (Elisa) Paquette, 23 great-grandchilden, 2 nieces and 1 nephew and the Bailey Family with whom he had a very special connection. He was affectionately known to them as Dubba.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 27th from 11AM-12:30PM at the Roan Family Funeral Home, 167 Main Street, Pembroke. A brief service will be held in the funeral home at 12:30PM .
