Roger G. Beard

December 19, 1960 ~ August 14, 2017 (age 56) 56 Years Old


Mr. Roger Glenn Beard, 56, of St. Petersburg, FL and Epsom, NH, passed away at Concord Hospital on August 14, 2017.

Born in Manchester, Roger was the son of the late Paul and Dolores (Dube) Beard.

He was raised and educated in New Hampshire and later went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Prior to his retirement Roger was employed by McMillan Transportation, Consolidated Freightways and New England Motor Transport.  He was also a member of Teamsters Local #633.

In St. Petersburg, Roger resided with Sandra Martin. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, was a bingo caller for various organizations and a member of the “Vermont” bowling league. In New Hampshire, he was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the Pembroke/Allenstown Old Home Day Committee as well as the Pembroke and Allenstown Fire Departments. He also enjoyed working at the NHIS during NASCAR weekends.

Roger loved his New Hampshire and Florida family and friends, his Florida bowling leagues, wearing his Magic Kingdom hats of many characters and colors, camping and vacationing at Preston, CT, going to Foxwoods, and his time at Old Orchard Beach with special friends, Sandy, Nancy and Norman.  He looked forward to New Hampshire summers to see his favorite buddies, Betty Crocker, Shannon, Josh, Cupcake and Holden. He was proud of them and their accomplishments.

Besides his parents, Roger was predeceased by his son Roger Paul Beard.

He is survived by his son Kevin, his sisters, Ruth Adams, Pauline Laliberte, and Patricia Upton as well as nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, August 22nd from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Petit-Roan Funeral Home, 167 Main St in Pembroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd at 11 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown. Burial will follow at a later date.
