BOW - Maurice R. Nepveu, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2018 after a period of declining health.
He was born on November 8, 1927, in Pembroke to Ernest and Marie Antoinette (Sanschagrin) Nepveu.
Maurice served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947 on the USS Aldebaran and in Bremerhaven, Germany. He resumed his employment at Boston & Maine Railroad in Concord, then transitioned to fine woodworking and carpentry as B & M closed its Concord facilities. As a general contractor, he built a development of custom homes in Bow, including his own, and several houses in the greater Concord area.
He had a lively sense of humor and enjoyed being with his family, boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, and working in his shop.
Maurice was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Yolande (St. Germain), his sons, Roy and Donald, and his brother, Leo.
He will be missed by his daughter and her husband, Catherine and Patrick Herlihy, his sister, Pauline Loso, his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Georgette Nepveu, his brother-in-law, Paul St. Germain, his daughters-in-law Paula Nepveu and Linda Vance, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like thank Merrimack County Nursing Home 4N staff for their exceptional care of Maurice.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, February 8th from 5 to 7 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home, 167 Main St. in Pembroke. A Funeral Service will follow at 7 P.M. in the Funeral Home. Spring burial will take place in Evans Cemetery in Bow. In lieu of flowers, Maurice’s family requests that a donation in his memory be made to the New Hampshire Food Bank, 700 East Industrial Park Dr. Manchester, NH 03109.
