Marilyn "Lois" (Stevens) Rook

PEMBROKE- Marilyn “Lois” (Stevens) Rook, 80, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Concord Hospice House on February 14, 2017.

Lois was born in Haverhill, MA, the daughter of the late Donald R. and Elizabeth (Carter) Stevens.  She was educated in the Pembroke School System, graduating from Pembroke Academy in 1954 and Pierce College in 1955.

Lois worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Hampshire for many years and later worked for McDonalds of Epsom and for the Town of Epsom.  She particularly loved vacations at Wells Beach, ME, Aruba, and Tanglewood in the Berkshires to hear the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald C. Rook in 1991 and her son, Kevin in 2012.

She is survived by her son, Kerry Rook and his partner Tammy Lorden of Fort Worth, TX; her daughter, Kelli Lazar and her husband Paul of South Boston, MA; four granddaughters, Jacy Rook of Fort Worth and Kara, Kathryn and Kori Lazar all of South Boston; one grandson, Jon Rook of Phoenix, AZ; her longtime companion, Allan Cole of Pembroke; her brother, Robert and his wife Joan of New Port Richey, FL and George and his wife Sherry of Valrico, FL; her aunt, Gladys Haist of Hampshire, TN and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, February 18th from 2 to 4 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke.  A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 19th at 1 P.M. in the Suncook United Methodist Church 160 Main St. in Pembroke.  Donations in Lois’ memory may be sent to the CRVNA Hospice House 30 Pillsbury St. Concord, NH 03301.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.petitroan.com
