Dorothy "Snookie" (Fitzgerald) Lang

PEMBROKE- Mrs. Dorothy “Snookie” (Fitzgerald) Lang, 94, of Pembroke, passed away after a short illness on February 15, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bronx, New York, the daughter of the late Walter and Freida (Sachs) Fitzgerald.  Dorothy’s working career started with The American Bank Note, Bronx, New York and the New York City School system for 27 years in the Bronx.

After moving to New Hampshire from Bronx in 1988 to be closer to her only son, she enjoyed going for car rides and enjoying the state’s beautiful scenery.  She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, listening to music, spending time with family and getting together for family meals with her son and his family.

She enjoyed making others laugh with her wicked sense of humor and she always had a smile on her face.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William G. Lang; brothers, Walter “Fuzzy” Fitzgerald and Ronald Fitzgerald; and her sister, Virginia “Sissy” Rispoli.

Dorothy is survived by one son, William R. Lang and his wife Sue of Epsom; her favorite grandson, Stephen and his special lady Rachel; her brother, Richard Fitzgerald and his wife Phyllis of Derry and her sister Joan Griffin and her husband Wayne of Greenville, TX.  She also has many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. In honor of Dorothy's love for animals, donations may be sent to The Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord-Merrimack County, 94 Silk Farm Rd.
